Low Voltage Lead Technician

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

Install security products and systems per blueprint or other specification drawings.
Service and troubleshoot security products and systems to diagnose problems and identify solutions.
Implement solutions onsite, and/or remotely, as applicable
Work with customers to ensure understanding and full utilization of their system’s capabilities.
Interface with equipment suppliers and distributors to ensure timely receipt and delivery of applicable products to the appropriate customer.
Maintain company equipment in a cleanly and organized manner; restock consumables as needed; escalate concerns regarding broken / missing equipment in a timely fashion.

Manage onsite operations via the leadership and supervision of a 2-4 laborer crew.
• Serve as a liaison, and trusted advisor, among both leadership and sales teams.
• Demonstrate an understanding of and follow all safety regulations and practices.
• Follow all GLCC policies, procedures, and core values.
• Interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

2 + years of surveillance and access control installation and troubleshooting.
3+ years of supervisory experience leading field operations crews, preferably in a telecom or other low voltage technology environment.
Must be knowledgeable in structured cabling systems, along with various wiring configurations and terminations
- Terminate cables – RJ45, Coax, 110 punch-down and fiber connectors.
- Install cabling pathways - j-hooks, cable racks, innerduct, conduits, etc.
- Dress cables according to safety regulations and customer specifications.
Able to utilize electronic testing and certification equipment.
Good communication skills for effective interaction with internal & external customers.
Open-minded willingness for continual learning.
Able to pass vendor certification and badging processes (i.e. TSA Precheck).
Able to pass applicable drug and background screenings.
Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.

Low Voltage Cable Technicians at GLCC will be working at a variety of Commercial and Industrial sites. These sites can include schools, offices, retail stores, industrial plants, and warehouses.
Each site and scope of work will be unique and add to the skillset and knowledge of the Low Voltage Cable Technician.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and/or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and/or reach with hands and arms.
Travel may be required; reliable, insured transportation is a must and will be verified.
